Our Summer Plans

Jeff has officially accepted an offer from Johnson and Johnson for his summer internship.  He will be doing Finance work for their R&D group.  We will be moving to New Jersey for this exciting opportunity!  Initially, I wasn't super excited about moving to Jersey, but I think its going to be great and everyone I talk to who has actually been there says its beautiful.  It is the "Garden State" after all.

J&J is going to provide a 2-bedroom furnished apartment for us so we should be able to fit the other things we need in our little Elantra.  The drive is going to take us 8 days total - 5 days driving and 3 days sight-seeing or visiting family.  We'll leave May 7th and Jeff starts work May 17th.

We've always wanted to do a church history tour and this seems like the perfect opportunity.  We plan on visiting the sites in Missouri (independence, liberty jail, Adam-ondi-Ahman), Nauvoo, Kirtland, Palmyra, and Harmony.  Plus we'll probably swim in the Glenwood Hot Springs and take a boat ride at Niagara Falls.

We're going to take advantage of living on the east coast over the summer and visit as much of the surrounding area as we can.  Our list so far includes New York City, Philadelphia, Hershey, Gettysburg, Amish country, and the Jersey Shore.  We're also considering how to spend our 2 long weekends.  We might go to Boston/New England for Memorial day and Washington D.C. for the 4th of July.  We'll see!

Since we've planned a family trip to Disneyland at the end of April, we are going to be able to drive from "sea to shining sea" TWICE (there and back)!

  1. I am SOO excited for you guys. One because it is great to have a job, but two because it is fun to see the east. We LOVED David's internship in Massachusettes. We went sight seeing every weekend and just LOVED it. I am so excited for you guys to have such a great experience. Also, if you have time we would love to catch up with you in Nauvoo. We live pretty close to it and it would be so fun to see you and your little family! You can e-mail me and we can figure out more:)
